Design
The 2020 Explorer has a wide, muscular profile which features rich, urban colors such as Copper Metallic, Atlas Blue, and Rapid Red. It can accommodate up to 7 passengers with E-Z Entry second-row seating that provides quick access to the third row with the push of a button — even with a child seat installed. The available twin-panel moonroof opens up the cabin to allow passengers to enjoy the journey as much as the destination.
The front row passengers get to ride in luxury with Active Motion®️ which includes five massage themes to keep your upper back, lower back, and hips relaxed. A 10.1” LCD capacitive portrait touchscreen gives you full connectivity to your media, navigation, and phone contacts.
Performance
The 3.0L EcoBoost®️ V6 engine with 10-speed automatic transmission, twin turbochargers, and direct injection provides 365 horsepower and 380 lb.-ft. of torque. For even more power, some trims are equipped to provide up to 400 horsepower and 415 lb.-ft. of torque.
Rear-wheel drive (RWD) improves the towing capacity of the Explorer by up to 600 lb. and gives greater control on and off the road. Intelligent 4WD with the all-new Terrain Management System provides 7 driving modes to help you manage difficult weather and terrain. These modes include Normal, Trail, Snow/Sand, Slippery, Sport, Tow/Haul, and Eco.
