If you’re looking for a new car, truck or SUV, Ford offers a number of Driver-Assistance features to help keep you and your family safe on the road. Continue reading to learn what safety features are available in our new Ford models.

Key Features of the Ford Co-Pilot360™ Safety Suite

BLIS® (Blind Spot Information System)

With BLIS®, you can merge into traffic or change lanes confidently knowing your Ford will alert you if someone is traveling in your blind spot. Radar sensors scan to identify vehicles who may be approaching quickly from behind so that you can avoid a potential collision. Indicator lights in the side view mirror will activate to show you where the car is coming from so you can wait to change lanes until the car safely passes.

Also available with BLIS® is Cross-Traffic Alert. This feature utilizes the same radars to detect when a vehicle is quickly approaching as you back out of a parking space or driveway. The system will alert you with the indicator lights in the sideview mirrors and will emit an audible warning so you can react accordingly.

Active Park Assist

Never pass up a parallel parking space again with the help of Active Park Assist. This feature

can analyze a parking space to determine if it is large enough to accommodate your vehicle. If so, it will then prompt you to shift, accelerate, and brake as it steers you seamlessly into your parking space.

For even greater convenience, the available Enhanced Active Park Assist system will help you steer in and out of parallel, reverse, and perpendicular parking spots. Some 2020 Ford models now offer Active Park Assist 2.0 which essentially parks the car for you with little to no input needed from the driver.

Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)

When traveling down the highway, cruise control can be a blessing and a curse since you constantly have to reset your speed to travel safely behind the cars ahead of you. ACC uses radar and camera technology to adjust your speed automatically so you can maintain a safe traveling distance if the car ahead of you decides to slow down.

Additional features include ACC with Stop-and-Go which can decelerate your car to a complete stop if necessary. And with Speed Sign Recognition, your Ford will automatically adjust the preset speed as the speed limits change.
